Strip Loin Roast, also known as New York Strip Roast, comes from the short loin area and is a boneless roast. The strip loin is the larger part of the T-bone steak, with the smaller part being the tenderloin.
Strip loin is a good alternative to prime rib for your holiday table. It has a delicious beefy flavor, becoming tender when slow-cooked. It can also be grilled: after searing both sides of the strip loin roast on a hot grill, move the meat to the side of the grill with no flame. Reduce the heat to medium, and continue to cook for 30-45 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
