Also known as the crescent roast, knuckle, or round tip roast, sirloin tip roast comes from the lower round, just behind the flank, making it perfect for roasting or braising.
Sirloin tip roast is ideal for throwing together on a weekday afternoon. While your oven preheats to 325F, season and sear both sides of the meat in a large Dutch oven. Add enough of your choice of cooking liquid (I like to use beef bone broth for extra flavor and nutrients) to cover the meat, and place it in your heated oven. Let the meat braise for a few hours (maybe while getting a few chores out of the way). In about 3 hours, you have a tender, delicious, and nourishing supper for the family.
