The best Brisket recipe and it's so simple

Who does not love a good brisket? My 6-year-old loves it enough to ask Daddy to smoke one for her birthday coming up.
For years, I made the brisket in the roaster. It was delicious, and super easy. My traditional pull out of the freezer frozen, season and cook overnight.
Then, last year, we upgraded our old grill to a grill/smoker combo. Jeremy started learning how to smoke beef by testing recipes with roasts. Then the real test came with the brisket. Let me tell you it was a game changer!
For a while he smoked something every weekend. It was glorious! He’d load up the smoker and then I would be able to use the meat all week. It’s really hard to beat that smoked meat flavor.
I’ll be honest I can make a good brisket, but my husband’s is way better, so I’ll share his recipe with you.
Like all our recipes the ingredients are pretty simple and easily found in almost any kitchen.
You’ll need:
~salt
~garlic powder
~onion powder
~black pepper
1. Combine the spices in a bowl and then rub on all sides of the brisket.
2. Smoke the brisket at 190° until it reaches 160° internal temp.
3. Then wrap in butcher paper followed by foil and smoke at 235° until it reaches 205° internal temperature.
4. Remove the brisket from the smoker and allow rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
Serve hot and try to not gorge yourself.
If you don’t have a smoker, you can use a roaster or large crock pot. It will still taste delicious but will be missing the pretty smoke ring.
Even in the roaster, the most important part to getting the brisket to cut into slices is the rest period.
Now go gather your friends and enjoy!
